When Beyoncé told the world she was expecting her first child with Jay-Z at the MTV Video Music Awards last August, the news spread so fast over Twitter that a new record was reached. And the fever pitch surrounding her pregnancy hasn't died off.
Over New Year's weekend, rumors spread all over the Internet that she had given birth to a little girl named Tiana May, even though she was spotted still very much pregnant celebrating over dinner with her music mogul husband,.
But it looks like this time, the rumors are true. This weekend, Beyoncé and Jay-Z (aka Shawn Carter) welcomed a daughter. Details are coming fast and furious, but none have been confirmed by the couple themselves. However, by most reports, the couple secretly checked into the hospital sometime on Friday, and Beyoncé delivered by C-Section sometime early Saturday.
The little tyke's name has yet to be confirmed, either, but several sources are reporting that her moniker is Blue Ivy Carter. I don't know why, but I thought that the couple would go a little bit more traditional in their choice of name, but I'm sure there's special meaning for them behind Blue Ivy.
Big congratulations go out to the couple on the birth of the first heir to their musical dynasty. We've gone from bump watch to baby watch. Now, we can all sit on the edge of our seats waiting for the first photos to arrive of baby Blue. I'm sure she's an absolute beauty!
What do you think of the name? Did you expect a traditional name for Beyonce and Jay-Z, or did you know they would only choose something so unique?
