Did you know September is national honey month?

Well, here's a simple way to celebrate! These little skewers take just 5 minutes to prep, plus you can marinate them ahead of time (or even overnight) and cook when you're ready to eat. So easy!

To serve, we placed our skewers in the middle of bright green Boston lettuce leaves and topped them with a few matchsticks of crunchy cucumber, cilantro and creamy sour cream, thinned out by a bit of lime juice. They certainly didn't last long.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Yield: 8 skewers

Ingredients:
•    3 tablespoons honey
•    3 tablespoons hot chili sauce (suggested: Sriracha)
•    2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
•    1 tablespoon soy sauce
•    1 teaspoon ground cumin
•    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•    1/2 teaspoon salt
•    1 pound top sirloin beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
•    8 wooden skewers
•    1 whole Boston or Bibb lettuce (optional)
•    1/2 whole cucumber, cut into 1/8-inch matchsticks (optional)
•    1/2 cup sour cream + juice of 1 lime (optional)

Directions:
1.    In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, chili sauce, oil, soy sauce, cumin, cinnamon and salt; add beef then marinate for 30 minutes.
2.    In the meantime, soak skewers in water for 20-30 minutes, to prevent them from burning during cooking.
3.    Preheat outdoor grill to medium-high and cook for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway, until medium doneness or place skewers onto a sheet pan and cook under broiler 5-7 minutes, flipping once. (Note: watch skewers carefully, the honey can char easily. Moving them to a cooler part of the grill, if grilling, or moving the chicken further from the broiler, may be necessary).
4.    Serve skewers as is or with lettuce, sliced cucumbers, cilantro and sour cream mixed with the juice of one lime.
