Meaghan O'Neill is editor-in-chief of Parentables and TreeHugger, an environmental news and culture blog, and and is the former editor-in-chief of PlanetGreen.com, all owned by Discovery Communications. Prior to joining Discovery, she was a freelance journalist, managing editor of Boston Magazine, contributing editor at Design New England, researcher-reporter at Interior Design, and assistant editor at Yahoo! Internet Life. Her first book, Ready, Set, Green: Eight Weeks to Modern Eco-Living, was published in 2008 by Villard/Random House. In 2007, her eight-part series The Slate Green Challenge for Slate.com was a National Magazine Award finalist. She has also contributed to a diversity of publications including The Boston Globe Magazine, I.D., Glamour, Men's Journal, ReadyMade, and Teen Vogue, among others; has spoken at events, businesses, and schools across the country; and has made dozens of national and local radio and television appearances. She lives in Newport, Rhode Island with her husband and son.
